The Inter-Deanery Transfer (IDT) process take places twice a year. Each application window will remain open for 3 weeks.

The national Inter-Deanery Transfer (IDT) process must operate in strict accordance with the published timescales and deadlines. Under no circumstances will late applications be accepted.

The Inter-Deanery Transfer (IDT) process is a UK-wide process that takes place twice a year. Each application window will remain open for 3 weeks and open in:

  • February (window 1)
  • August (window 2)

Applications made during February (window 1) should expect to receive information on their outcome by late April and transfer between August and October the same year.

Applications made during August (window 2) should expect to receive information on their outcome by late October and transfer between February and April of the following year.

National IDT newsletter

The national IDT team provide regular updates via a newsletter so that subscribers can receive the latest information including key dates, amendments to process, changes to criteria and notification of service improvement projects.
