The Multi-Specialty Recruitment Assessment (MSRA) is a computer-based assessment. It assesses essential competences in the person specification through clinical scenarios.

Important: Invites for the MSRA

We apologise for the delay in sending out invites for the MSRA.

We now anticipate bookings will open on Tuesday 27 August 2024.

If you have sat the exam in the previous round and have a score of 186 or higher in each paper, then you will not have the opportunity to resit the exam.  You will be contacted directly, on Tuesday 27 August via Oriel, if this applies to you.

The MSRA is a computer-based assessment which has been shown to be a strong predictor of performance in Obstetrics and Gynaecology examinations.

Scoring

The Multi-Specialty Recruitment Assessment (MSRA) will make up 33.3% of your final score.

The MSRA will be used as below.

  • MSRA score will be used to shortlist out the lowest scoring applicants and bypass the highest scoring applicants to offer stage. The bypass score will be determined using data from previous recruitment years.
  • If you score very highly on both papers of the MSRA, you will be bypassed through the interview stage (as in you will not need to attend an interview, but will instead be made an offer based on your MSRA score alone).
  • If you pass the MSRA but do not reach the bypass score, you will be ranked and invited to interview based on interview capacity. Interview capacity is based on post numbers and panel member availability. The MSRA will make up a percentage of your final score.

Taking the MSRA

If eligible, you will be invited to take the MSRA.
