This section provides information on careers in public health and the recruitment process to enter the specialty.

The recruitment round for posts commencing in August 2024 begins in October 2023. The application process is expected to be similar to the 2023 round.

The opening date for applications is 10:00 on 26 October 2023. Applicants will be required to submit one application only. Applications will be via the Oriel system. Applications will only be accepted through the electronic portal; paper applications will not be accepted.

Specialty Training 2024 – ST1 Opportunities in Public Health

Applicants for Academic Clinical fellowships through National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) should go to the NIHR website for information on the process.

Selection into Public Health Specialty training in 2024 will be run by NHS England -  East Midlands for England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
