Summary of changes for 2025 recruitment

Details of the 2025 recruitment process are provided throughout this page in conjunction with central guidance issued by the National Recruitment Team that applies across specialties.

You can find the central guidance on the Medical Specialty Recruitment pages.

You must read these pages and the guidance on the Medical Specialty Recruitment pages before beginning your application.

It is anticipated that trainees accepting a paediatric and perinatal pathology training post in England will be eligible for a £20,000 recruitment incentive. This is to recognise the need to improve recruitment into the specialty and grow the paediatric and perinatal pathology workforce. However, confirmation of this incentive is still awaited and an update will be provided in advance of offers being made.

Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST)

If you are required to submit a CREST, you must do so before at the time of submitting your application. Failure to submit this will result in your application being withdrawn. Only the 2024 version of the form will be accepted.

For further information regarding the CREST form and providing proof of Foundation competencies, please see the Medical Specialty Recruitment pages.
