eLearning for Healthcare (eLfH) mandatory modules
Details on how to access the mandatory modules on the eLearning for Healthcare (eLfH) website, including child and adult safeguarding.
Participants in the Return to Practice (RtP) or International Induction Programme (IIP) should visit the eLfH website.
The candidate either needs to have:
- An NHS email address or
- Email the National Recruitment Office (NRO) to request registration for temporary access (max 8 weeks)
Getting an NHS email address
In order to receive and NHS email address, you must:
- be linked to a practice placement by the NHSEI team
- have approval from NHS England for inclusion to the Medical Performers List (MPL) with scheme conditions
This will allow the PM to register the doctor for an NHS email address before they start.
They cannot be activated until the user is on an N3 connection so needs to do it from an NHS site (which the PM can do for them).
The doctor will then have permanent access to all learning modules on eLfH
If access is required prior to the issuing of an NHS email address (temporary access)
If you require temporary access prior to your NHS email address being issued, you will need to:
- be permitted on registration for the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) Learning Needs Assessment
- email the National Recruitment Office (NRO) to request access to Learning modules. Once done, the NRO will send a spreadsheet to eLfH of all doctors registered and approved and attempting the MCQ on the C/D of the applications
Once completed, you will be granted temporary access to learning modules until you have an NHS email address.
If the HEE scheme doctor already has an NHS email address they may register with eLfH on their website.
Existing or newly registered learners can add the to their account by logging in as normal and then following the eLfH webpage instructions:
- Safeguarding modules for both adult and child
- Resuscitation modules
In addition to Safeguarding you should also complete the following modules:
- Basic Life Support - Level 1
- Basic Life Support - Level 2: Adult - includes updates for COVID, pregnancy, AED and choking, handover (SBAR) and early warning scores
- Basic Life Support Paediatric level 2 - similar to above, and includes infants
- Newborn level 2 – NOT NEEDED for resus at birth
