Please note the posts advertised are only available to applicants who are applying to ST3 level. Recruitment to ST1 is typically advertised in line with the national timeline for Round 1.
If you already hold an NTN or DRN in Clinical Radiology are not eligible to apply. This vacancy is only open for applicants who are not currently in a Clinical radiology training programme. For information about entry pathways and eligible courses please refer to the specialty person specifications.
Summary of changes for 2025
- Alternative Certificate to Enter Clinical Radiology ST3 Specialty Training
- As part of the changes made from the previous round, we have a specific certificate - alternative certificate to enter clinical radiology specialty training (ST3) 2026
- You can only use the 2025 certificate if your signatory meets the criteria for the 2026 certificate
- FRCR at the time of supervising you, and
- Held a senior position at the time they supervised you
- Please review the Clinical Radiology ST3 person specification for update to eligibility for GMC registration. Candidates must have full GMC registration at the point of application, if you do not your application will be withdrawn.
Recruitment process
Reasonable adjustments and Disability Confident Scheme
We will ensure, where possible, that reasonable adjustments are made at interview to meet the needs of applicants with disabilities.
You must ensure that you include this on the application form and enter an early dialogue with the recruiting organisation.
Failure to provide the requested information and documentation by the stated deadline will result in adjustments and/or Disability Confident Scheme (DCS) status not being met.

Fitness to Practice
If you have made a positive declaration in the Fitness to Practice section, you must follow this up by completing our form on the support portal, you must contact the recruitment office via the support portal by close of the application window. Failure to provide the outlined information by the close of application may result in your application being withdrawn.
Eligibility and longlisting
Longlisting is the process of checking that applicants meet the minimum requirements to be eligible for a Clinical Radiology ST3 post. You can find the eligibility criteria on the person specification. More information about longlisting can be found on the Medical Specialty Recruitment pages.
Alternative Certificate to Enter ST3 Clinical Radiology Specialty Training 2026
In addition to checking applications against the person specification eligibility criteria, the longlisting process will also involve checking the Alternative Certificate to Enter Clinical Radiology ST3 Specialty Training 2026.This must be completed in full, and every requirement must be evidenced. Please note that this is the only certificate that will be accepted.
Failure to meet the eligibility criteria at longlisting will result in your application being withdrawn, and you will be notified via Oriel about this. You will not be eligible to proceed any further in the recruitment process.
Shortlisting
Depending on the number of applications received against interview capacity available, the unverified self-assessment score may be used as a tool to identify applicants to progress to the verification of the portfolio stage, with a cut off score being implemented.
In the event that the number of verified applicants still exceeds the interview capacity, the self-assessment verified scores will be used to create a rank that will be used to shortlist applicants who will be invited to the interview stage.
