Before you apply for Specialty Training you should check that you're eligible.

Vacancy, advert and application

Vacancy information is provided on the 2024 Clinical Oncology ST3 advert; further information will be available at point of preferencing later in the process.

Applications will only be accepted through the Oriel Recruitment system between 10am on Thursday 16 November 2023 until 4pm on Thursday 7 December 2023. Please be aware applications received after this time will not be accepted and there will be no exceptions to this.

Special circumstances, reasonable adjustments, disability confident scheme and fitness to practise

We are committed to supporting you if you require additional support due to disability or health conditions. The process for 2024 is to submit all reasonable adjustments requests at the time of your application and on Oriel. All evidence will be uploaded at the time you are submitting your application. Please follow the guidance on Oriel and the guidance on the Medical Specialty Recruitment pages for this process

Eligibility and longlisting

The eligibility criteria for Clinical Oncology ST3 are listed on the 2024 Clinical Oncology ST3 person specification and all applications submitted will be assessed against this.  Any applications not meeting the eligibility criteria will be longlisted out of the process and will not progress to the next stage.

Please be aware that by allowing applicants to progress to the next stage, the recruitment team does not accept or confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements and you may still be withdrawn from the application process at any stage.

Round deadline for applicants who are submitting an Alternative Certificate to Enter Group 2 Higher Physician Specialty Training

It is anticipated that you will be able to provide an Alternative Certificate to Enter Group 2 Higher Physician Specialty Training at time of application. If you are not able to provide the certificate at the time of submitting your application, you will be presented with a window to submit the certificate from the time of application submission to the application window closing. The certificate upload window will close at 4pm on Thursday 7 December.

Exceptional circumstances

Candidates facing challenges in providing standard evidence, such as refugees or those with special circumstances, should describe their situation on the Oriel application form.
