We can now confirm that some specialties that would usually offer vacancies will not be recruiting this year.

Individual specialties have reviewed:

  • The number of posts it has available.
  • The number of appointable applicants on the reserve list.
  • Whether there are enough suitable candidates on the reserve list.

  • Combined Infection Training ST3 and ST4
  • Dermatology ST3
  • Diagnostic Neuropathology ST3
  • Emergency Medicine ST4
  • Endocrinology and Diabetes Mellitus ST4
  • Gastroenterology ST4
  • General (Internal) Medicine ST4
  • General (Internal) Medicine and Stroke Medicine ST4
  • Genitourinary Medicine ST4
  • Geriatric Medicine ST4
  • Haematology ST3
  • Immunology ST3
  • Neurology ST4
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery ST3
  • Paediatric and Perinatal Pathology ST3
  • Palliative Medicine ST4

For specialties that do not advertise:

  • Available posts will be offered directly to appointable applicants on the reserve list from the previous recruitment round.
  • You will not need to submit a new application to be considered for these posts.
  • Posts will start later than August, but commencement dates will be clear in the offer detail
  • Eligible applicants will be contacted and given the opportunity to preference the new posts available, prior to any offers being released.

Priority status review

All applicants that were considered appointable for a specialty that is not recruiting in Round 3 and were not in the priority group have been emailed with instructions for requesting a review of their priority status. The deadline for submitting requests and supporting evidence is 1pm on 24 July 2026.
