Additional 650 Postgraduate Medical Training Places Available in England

From Thursday 22nd October over 650 new additional postgraduate training places will be available across England with successful applicants starting in August 2027.

These posts are part of the agreement reached with the British Medical Association's Resident Doctors Committee (RDC) on 29 June 2026 and contribute to the wider commitment to create up to 4,500 new postgraduate training places over the next three years. 

These posts will be advertised in either Round 1 or Round 2 depending on the grade/specialty.
