Change to timing for completion of Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST) for General Practice (GP)

Important notice

Applicants to GP specialty training for the 2024 recruitment rounds which opens in November 2023, will need to submit their Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST) at the point of application.

The CREST allows applicants to specialty training to demonstrate that they have foundation level competences.

At present applicants to General Practice get an extension to allow extra time for completion; this extended time is not available to other specialties. The extended deadline will be removed for the 2024 recruitment rounds.

This change does not apply to the 2023 recruitment rounds and applicants will still be able to apply for to extend the deadline.
